Frequently Asked Questions

•    How can parents access my webpage?
Once created, parents can access your webpage in two ways. Your webpage will always be accessible through your personal URL, given to you once you establish your page. With some school districts, each teacher’s webpage may also be linked online in your school’s staff directory.

•    How can I personalize my webpage?
In addition to uploading written content, you can personalize your webpage by uploading photos, video, or audio through your Asset Manager. You can change the color of any “Notes” box that you create – bringing attention to the areas most important for students and parents. Feel free to color code your Notes in any way you wish. Pages can also be customized with different type size and formatting.

•    How much information can my webpage hold?
Each individual webpage can hold up to 1GB of information.

•    How do I make changes or updates to my webpage?
A step-by-step instruction guide is provided to all EduTalk clients on how to make changes to your webpage. Editing text is similar to working in Microsoft Word, and uploading media files is similar to how you would add and store files on your own computer.

•    How does my webpage get posted online?
Once your webpage has been established to your satisfaction, you must speak with your technology administrator about having your webpage go “live” for all to view. Or speak directly with an EduTalk representative if you have purchased this module independently. Your webpage only goes “live” once you tell us to – this enables you to make mistakes and keep trying until you get it perfect.

Can I post anything I want – such as photos, videos and links – to my site?
You can post anything with educational value to your website; however, please be sure it conforms to your district’s acceptable use policy. You also want to be conscious of not violating any copyright infringement. If you are unsure if an item conforms to this policy, please speak with your technology director.

•    Can I create a quiz with multiple formats, and what happens when a student completes a quiz?
You can create a quiz that contains questions in both fill-in or multiple-choice format, and interchange the two formats within one quiz. Once a student completes a quiz, results are sent to the teacher’s email address.
